Depart Melbourne for Birdsville crossing the Strzelecki and Simpson Desert with ease. This afternoon explore this iconic outpost and enjoy a cold beer on your ‘perch’ in the colourful bar.

Birdsville Hotel

Fly north to the oasis of Adel’s Grove where you will be guided into the spectacular National Park for easy bushwalking trails and to learn about bush foods. Gently paddle your canoe
for the best perspective of the impressive gorge. Tonight’s accommodation is on-site at Adel’s Grove in new ensuite cabins alongside a meandering stream.

Adel's Grove

Overfly the mysterious sandstone structures of the Lost City en route
to Groote Eylandt, a part of Arnhem Land. Having only recently opened its doors to tourists, an insight into the local culture and lifestyle is an unforgettable experience. There is also a thriving
art community which you will get the opportunity to visit and meet the artists.

Groote Eylandt Lodge

On the mouth of the mighty Norman River, Karumba is a significant port
and there are always plenty of things to see – it’s abundant in birdlife, crocodiles, barramundi and mud crabs and this afternoon’s cruise will show you all this and more. Finish the day with a feast on impossibly fresh seafood on a tiny sand island out in the Gulf.

End of the Road Motel

Horn Island is the gateway between Australia and Papua New Guinea - on arrival the friendly smiles of the locals welcome you to their island home. Horn Island played a major role in wartime
and you will see the remnants of hidden runways and caches in the jungle.
A private tour of Thursday Island will also reveal a vibrant community.

Wongai Beach Resort, Torres Strait

After an aerial orbit of the ‘tip’ of Cape York, your local guide will ensure you
put a tick on your bucket list and set
foot on this significant landmark. The
next two nights are spent in Cooktown, the place where Captain Cook careened the Endeavour for repairs in 1770. This picturesque town is steeped in fascinating history which you will learn all about on your private tour.

Cooktown Sovereign Resort

From Cooktown it is a brief flight to the tiny settlement of Laura. This is where
we will access the forgotten rock art galleries of the Quinkan spirits. A drive through some lovely Cape York savannah country to the galleries, a very rewarding experience, with a picnic lunch out in the woodlands. Yet another brief flight to Cairns Airport before being transferred by private vehicle to the secluded luxury of Silky Oaks Lodge, where you will be warmly welcomed.

Enjoy two nights at the luxurious Silky Oaks Lodge

Today you can relax and breathe in the refreshing scent of the rainforest as you explore the region with a gentle boat cruise along the Mossman River. In the afternoon walk amongst the towering tree trunks through a particularly pretty stretch of rainforest with your local guide. During your stay at Silky Oaks Lodge, we welcome you to take part in your massage treatment, compliments of Air Adventure.

Situated on the Thomson River, Longreach has many highlights to note. Visit the Stockman’s Hall of Fame and the Qantas Founders Museum. You will also visit a remarkable Australian at Longway Cattle Station and learn of life in the Outback.

Kinnon & Co. Pioneer Cottages

A walker and photographer’s paradise, protected by the bright sandstone walls, this gorge is one of the most diverse
and beautiful walks in Australia. Set amongst ancient macrozamias your accommodation at Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge is African inspired and blends into the environment perfectly.
