"The earliest evidence of intelligent life in the history of our planet."

Sir David Attenborough

This fascinating region in the Flinders Ranges is home to the first geological period to be declared in 120 years and the first to be named after a location in the Southern Hemisphere. The Ediacaran Hills which we grant you access to, are host to one of the world's most important fossil sites. These fossil fields represent the oldest evidence of complex life on earth and provide an understanding of the early evolution of life.

Covering an interval of around 88 million years from 645 to 542 million years ago, these fossils which were the original sea floor are exquisitely preserved and were around long before even dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Explore the field which even had Sir David Attenborough captivated when he visited and who knows you might even discover something new yourself.
