Destination Profile - Faraway Bay, Western Australia

Faraway Bay is situated in the far north-west corner of Western Australia, near the mouth of the King George River, far away from any towns. There is no road access. At the end of the flight there is only one accommodation property, the remote Bush Camp at Faraway Bay. Not only is the property both in a spectacular and remote location, it accommodates only 12, in 6 2-person hillside cabins.

At King George Falls, the King George River plunges 100m over a sandstone cliff into tidal waters. These falls are in full force from late December through to early May each year and gradually recede to a small flow in September. The falls are situated 8km from the coast and if entering the river from the sea the route up the river is one of the world's most spectacular sights.

The surrounding coastline is also spectacular, with coastal cliffs, gorges, mangrove-lined bays, enormous sand dunes and rugged sandstone country. This coastline is known as the Diamond coast.

Once at Faraway Bay outback entertainment and hospitality will have you enchanted for the duration of your stay; surveying the estuaries on board a private boat or simply soaking up the glorious Kimberley sun in the plunge pool with an everlasting view.

This destination is part of the Flyaway Faraway Kimberley Style Australian Adventure.
