Destination Profile - Balcanoona, South Australia

The Gammon Ranges National Park borders the Balcanoona Pastoral Station. The major part of the station was added to the National Park in 1982. The name Balcanoona is derived from a word in the Adnjamathanha language meaning 'old woman'. This is the name given to a rock formation high on the hill overlooking the area.

This destination is part of the Discover the Hart of the Flinders Australian Adventure.
