Day 1 Arkaroola Depart Melbourne on board the Outback Jet bound for Balcanoona airfield in the Flinders Ranges. This afternoon join the knowledgeable guides at Arkaroola for the Ridge Top Tour through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Flinders Ranges to Siller's Lookout. This evening, if skies are clear, you will join a guided tour of the galaxy in the observatory.

Accommodation: Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary

Day 2 Brachina Gorge Following breakfast, return to the Outback Jet for the brief flight across the ranges landing in the high country at Blinman. From here you will be guided by Dr Jim Gehling, Senior Research Scientist from the Museum of South Australia who will interpret the so called 'corridor through time' as you pass through eons of sedimentary stone. Driving through Brachina Gorge is often likened to driving through a text book. There is also the odd Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby hiding in the caves. Once out on the western plains you will arrive at the stylish Prairie Hotel, your home for the next two nights and a destination within itself.

Accommodation: The Prairie Hotel, Parachilna

Day 3 Ediacaran Hills Today you will be guided by the owner of Nilpena Station and fourth generation grazier, Ross Fargher. Ross was the one who located the current site of Ediacaran fossils. This trip is timed to coincide with the annual visit of Professor Mary Droser - the world's leader in research into the Ediacaran fossils. While on site you will be able to tap into Mary's vast knowledge as well as assist in identifying new finds. Mary will also deliver a presentation highlighting her life's work.

Accommodation: The Prairie Hotel, Parachilna

Day 4 Ediacaran Hills - Melbourne Following another great morning in the field with Professor Mary Droser, enjoy lunch at the Prairie Hotel and then a scenic drive back up through Parachilna Gorge, you will reunite withe the Outback Jet for the flight back to Melbourne, with a scenic orbit of the impressive Wilpena Pound on the way and returning to Melbourne by approximately 1730.
