Freycinet and Cradle Mountain
Day One: Melbourne – Launceston – Freycinet Peninsula
Enjoy stunning aerial views of Melbourne city prior to tracking south east across Bass Strait. A short scenic drive through the north east of Tasmania’s picturesque countryside before arriving at Freycinet Lodge, AAA guests are served lunch with a gourmet view. Freycinet Lodge is easy to fall in love with, whether it be the architecture of the Lodge itself or the cuisine served within its idyllic position. Following lunch, an easy trek along Richardson’s Beach and option to view a Tasmanian sunset at Sunset Point.
Accommodation is at Freycinet Lodge or similar.
Day Two: Wineglass Bay – Hazards Beach
Birds calling from across the bay act as nature’s own alarm clock. After breakfast you are shown the trail upward to the Hazards, which eventually will lead to the Saddle to enjoy postcard-like views of breathtaking Wineglass Bay. From the Saddle, descend onto the Bay’s pure white sand. As the tranquil waters gently lap against the sands, you are served a picnic lunch. Continue your walk across the isthmus to Hazards Beach where all are welcomed aboard for a relaxing return boat transfer back to the Lodge.

Day Three: Freycinet – Launceston
A picturesque morning coastal drive eventually turns inland over the hills back into Launceston. Launceston city is charming. After lunch, you are escorted on a tour of the tremendous Cataract Gorge. Trails surrounding Cataract Gorge offer opportunity to view its splendour or simply go aboard the scenic chairlift allowing for easy armchair sightseeing.
Accommodation is at the Colonial Motel or similar.
Day Four: Launceston – Cradle Mountain
A morning flight to Devonport then over-land by private vehicle into Tasmania’s high country to your accommodation. On arrival, lunch is served within the warm mountain-style architecture of the Lodge. Afternoon activities are various and unique to the region. Venture deep into the forest on the King Billy circuit or take advantage of the many activities Voyages Cradle Mountain Lodge provides. Select from luxurious spa treatments to the more active fly-fishing lessons conducted by local experts. Dinner and wine menus are of the highest standard, indulge at this most luxurious of retreats.

Day Five: Cradle Mountain
Enjoy breakfast prior to an easy morning at leisure, there are numerous short walks and wanders to choose from. Afternoon activities include an over-land journey toward the scenic Dove Lake circuit, enjoying awe-inspiring views of Cradle Mountain and the serenity of Dove Lake. AAA guests are guided along an easy trail which is both very refreshing and rewarding, especially for those guests who are avid photographers.

Day Six: Cradle Mountain – Melbourne
Mountain air enriches your morning as you enjoy your breakfast. Today you are treated to a very special tour personally escorted by Dennis Maxwell, famous in these parts. He is a colourful local character who has created his own unique experience. Dennis, together with AAA guests embark upon a Tasmanian wilderness experience not forgotten quickly. Utilising his modified 4WD coach, Dennis selects his favourite off-road tracks that weave directly into Tasmania’s high country. AAA guests now descend from Tasmania’s high country to arrive at Devonport for lunch. Pilots are in waiting prior to departure homeward bound for Melbourne.
